Collect
Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ have overcome death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: grant that, as by your grace going before us you put into our minds good desires, so by your continual help we may bring them to good effect; through Jesus Christ our risen Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Resurrection Fruit
In this Easter season we have studied the blessing of Unity (Psalm 133), and on the day of our AGM we considered our calling to care for each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, and to live in a way that blesses those outside our faith community (ACTS 3). The local church is the hope of the world (Bill Hybels). Today our focus is on the encounter between Philip and the Ethiopian; the fruit of remaining in Christ (John 15) leads to the fruit of telling others about Christ (Acts 8). Philip was obedient to share the good news about Jesus and invested time with the Ethiopian, who represents those who are geographically and ethnically far away. In Christ there is no discrimination and all are welcome! Although we are not all ‘evangelists’, we are all called to live out the gospel and bear resurrection fruit in the way we behave and speak. Scripture is clear, where opportunity arises, we should make the most of telling others the most important news anyone will ever hear. Who will you tell this week?

A huge “Thank you” to everyone who gave so generously to last week's Special Offering. We gave $765 to the  Assyrian Refugees via NEST.
Thanks also to everyone who made the Jumble Sale such a success (especially Dorothy!), we raised $230 for the Relief Fund.

All are welcome to join us for Refreshments downstairs after the service.
